Decoration in Motion
One trend that will bring an air of drama to your room is the motion design. It is where you create the idea that motion is or has recently occurred with an object or objects based on their placement.
One bold decoration move is to display a decoration box and have the top off to one side and the contents creatively dispersed across the shelf. It doesn't matter if they are glass figurines or small trinkets, as long as they look "spilled" it will work. This is to give the impression that the box has been over turned on the shelf, when in fact you are merely cleverly displaying a small collection of items in a very creative way. Another fun way to display this type of motion decor is to use
two shelves and have the items appear to be going from one shelf to another.
Another way to put design in motion into action in a room is to use the curtains to their billowy best. Use two panels across a window and then tie them back in one direction only, bringing the whole of the drapery back and tie off one side or the other. You can further make your window treatments interesting by using a decorative rod across the top or a cornice board will also add a decorative touch.
Prisms in windows are another way to capture motion in a room through the use of light. A slyly placed prism where light comes in a window during the day will send panels of color to specific areas in a room. Hanging from a window frame surrounded by green plants will lend a comfy, cozy feel to a room.
Those are just three ways to bring life into your decor, experiment and see which way works best for your room!
