Classic Styles for the Bedroom
For many people, the modern lines of an Eames design or the austere feeling in a room that is created with Art Deco, is just too formal. They don't really want trendy looks like Shabby Chic either. They want classic designs. Once you design your room in a classic design using pieces that are noted for their longevity you will find that your room never looks "dated" and is always in style.
If you're updating a
bedroom to a more classic style, go for some of the
furniture styles that have withstood the test of time and fads.
Armoires used to be a classic way to hold a wardrobe, today they are more often used to hold a television that can be closed off when it is not in use. Tall
dressers will do the job of the long skinny dresser that you probably have in your
bedroom now and will use less floor space.
Add a
chaise lounge to your bedroom. They are idea for reclining on and putting your feet up after a long day at work, running errands and trying to keep to your busy schedule. As for your bed, go for a tall Victorian, nothing is more cozy and comfy. Add a delicate eyelet bedspread and lacy pillowcases and you'll have a decidedly classic look in the making.
