Colors of the Season

Do you enjoy changing the decor of your room to match the season? You can just make a few changes in your interior design to make your room crackle with life and meld into the season. The secret to having an ever changing seasonally designed room is to have your major pieces such as your couch, ottoman, large shelving units and draperies in a neutral color.

For fall, think turning leaves and earthy tones. Go for burnt oranges here and there and even a dark red used as an accent will look beautiful. Placing a few pillows around, a table spray of pine cones and leaves will look elegant. Change your drapery ties to a brown or golden tone and you can have a beautiful done room for autumn. Winter will bring thoughts of white, pine trees and bright colors. Think about a bright yellow crocus that will push up through the snow. Keep your winter decor simple or go seasonal as the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are also during this time so you can also make your decor match the holidays for a little glitz and glamor.

With spring comes new colors and you can also celebrate Easter. Soft, pastel colors splashed around the room in pillows and use a soft color on your drapery ties. Summer will be light and breezy. Think cool blues and light sunny shades for your room, you can usually incorporate a lot of your winter colors into your summer designs as white looks nice and cool in the summer as well.

You can have four different decors throughout the year with just a few changes around your room. Just get four see through plastic boxes and label them with the seasons and you'll a room in a box just waiting to be shown!
