Need An Incredible Gift Idea?
You've survived another holiday season but you know that no matter what the season is, it is almost a guarantee that you will end up being invited to attend a birthday party, a house warming event of some type of gathering that will warrant the purchase of a gift.
Of course you will want to give something that will be loved and used by the recipient. If you're having trouble coming up with a gift idea, an item for the home will make a fabulous present for any occasion. Consider giving a personal item such as a
jewelry box.
Another great type of gift is to give an item to jazz up their garden area such as
rounded metal lanterns. These lanterns have hundreds of holes rivets in them and they will allow the light of a candle to diffuse through them, creating a wonderful soft glow. Perfect for the patio they add a sense of style without being overpowering.
Other great gifts include the gift of
art. A sculpture piece on a table or a new
artwork for their walls will add a wonderful sense of elegance to the room and many of these
artworks can do double duty as an impact piece and be a real conversation starter. Framed over a sofa or get a pair if your friend is into feng shui in their decor, as pairs of items are very important for bringing balance into the room.
If you need to pick up a gift for someone for a special occasion, consider the option of giving them an item they can really use in their homes.

Yes, The Little Things Do Count
When you're pulling together the entire look of a room, you can use small elements in your design to make the entire look blend and flow as a whole.
Great additions to any room are
decorative accents. There are a number of items you can use for
decorative accents and they can add so much to your room.
Area rugs for example are a wonderful accent for pulling different low-key colors in your room together. Your walls and your floor will be working in harmony to balance the colors in the room.
Other great accents include
mirrors and
shelves.
Mirrors can be cleverly used to make a small room seem larger and when used with lighting -
mirrors will brighten the room even more.
Shelving is a very valuable accent and it can be a lot more than a board on a bracket. Choose a scroll worked wooden
shelf such as the
Verona design. If you seek a clean look to your room, go for a
shelf without brackets
shelf that appears to be floating on the wall. It actually connect to the wall by the use of a unique anchoring system and this
shelf will even hold ceramics and books with ease.
If you're looking for a way to make your room pop, look around and see what accent items will fit in nicely to your decor scheme. You will find just an addition or two will make all the difference in the world to your interior design.

Is Your Child Ready For Potty Training?
Getting out of diapers is a milestone with their children that many parents look forward to. The hardest part isn't the actual
potty training but knowing if your child is ready.
Most children start showing signs of readiness between 18 and 24 months, your child may take longer. If your child is waking up dry after naps and is telling you when he eliminates, he is becoming aware of his body. Normally it starts out with the child telling you after he goes, soon he will learn the feeling that comes on before he goes. That's how you know your child is ready for
potty training.
Stock up on several pairs of underwear - you'll go through a good number each day while your child is learning and make going to the
potty fun and rewarding. Never punish your child for having an accident, it's something new and if your child has an accident, talk about it and then work on the signs of impending elimination.
You can also make it fun with a
potty chair all his own. Sitting on a toilet can be frightening for some children and they fare much better with a
potty chair, consider one that has a whimsical design such as a throne like
"His Majesty's Throne" potty chair. It even has a place to put a photo of your little prince so he knows this chair is really just for him.
You can help your child become
potty trained quickly by using praise and rewards. Watch for the signs of readiness and then you can begin the process that will let your child have more independence and you can save all that money in diapers!

What are the Benefits of Wall Shelves?
If you don't already have wall
shelves in your decor, you're missing out on a lot. Wall
shelves can add so much to any room. They add valuable storage space along with the ability to display items you don't necessarily want to leave out on a table in a room.
Shelves are the best for getting rid of clutter in a room. Numerous studies have shown that clutter can actually make many people feel nervous, and let's face it - you can't relax in a room if it is making you nervous.
You no longer have to deal with wall
shelves that are plain, flat and simply unflattering. Now, there are really all kinds of different wall
shelves that can add an incredibly beautiful touch wherever you may need it. If you are a plant buff, you may want to think of using such
shelves to place certain plants. Set up a lovely area on a wall with a couple of wall
shelves and then set a few pretty ivy plants on top of them.
If you love
shelves but you think brackets are ugly, consider a bracketless
shelving set. Two
shelves such as a
Gallery Set of wooden shelves that are placed in a stair step fashion on a wall will make a real impact in the room. Putting a pretty ceramic piece or small sculpture item will further call attention to the item and the shelving it is displayed on.
When you're tired of clutter and you want to make good use of your wall space areas, go for the shelving option and watch your room go from cluttered to comfortable.

Making Beautiful Bedding Choices
With your busy schedule you probably don't feel as though you get to spend enough time in your
bedroom; but for the time you do get to spend in there, make sure it is a relaxing place to get away from it all. It's easy to make your bedroom comfy and cozy and it all starts with a comfortable place to lay your head. Opt for the best bed that you can afford as good sleep is as essential to your well being as good food. A
Bay Heights Canopy Bed that was designed by super model Kathy Ireland will make a lovely foundation to build a comfy bedroom around.
Next get yourself a matching
bedding set. You can let the size of your room choose your color scheme if you're having trouble choosing. Light colors open up a room and darker colors will bring in a room. If you have a smaller room - go for the lighter colors and if your room feels a little too big and not cozy at all - darker colors will help remedy that situation.
Add a few extra pillows - prop yourself up if you watch television in bed and be comfortable, that's what relaxing is all about. It shouldn't be a lot of work to relax - that will defeat the whole purpose.
Invest in a heavy set of drapes. Match the colors to your bedding. Not only will they help keep your room one temperature in the hot and cold months of the year - they will also work to keep the light out and enable you to get a truly deep and restful sleep. If you're ready to turn your sleeping quarters into a place to unwind and relax - make a few changes and you'll remember how great a full night of restful sleep truly is.
