Bringing Together A Vacation Cottage
Any time you are faced with decorating or sprucing up a vacation cottage, you really need to take comfort and style in mind. After all, this is really your home away from home when you venture out for vacations with your loved ones. You are going to want a space that really speaks to your soul and makes you feel comfortable and right at home from the very second that you walk through the front door. Take some time to bring together the look of your vacation cottage and you are guaranteed to fall in love with it all over again.
Depending on your styles and tastes, you can put together a beautiful setting complete with lush pillows and wonderful throws in the living area. Certainly you will want a terrific place that you can go to curl up at the end of a fabulous day during your vacation at the cottage. Set up your furniture so you have a mixture of styles and designs if you really want to go for the rustic cottage look that is so popular with a number of famous interior designers. Leave some room for incredible
lamps for the right lighting accents and you are going to be amazed at the look and feel that you can create.
If you happen to find that you are running out of space in your cozy cottage but you are still in need of a bit more light, you can always enlist the help of a wonderful
hanging lamp. Not only will this solve the problem of lack of space, it can also cast a beautiful glow on a nice little corner of your vacation cottage.

Making It More Than A Laundry Room
Whoever set the rule that a laundry room has to be a stark and lifeless room that simply holds a couple of appliances? There is no reason at all that anyone should have to live with a plain and boring laundry room that gives off nothing but a dull feeling. You can bring a couple of different decor elements into your very own laundry room to help make it not only a room that functions properly, but also gives you a warm feeling each and every time you walk into it.
Making your laundry room a happy place for doing your chores might be quite a bit easier than one would think. You can always start with a little splash of color on the walls and even take the extra step of finding a few nice
framed pieces that you can add to them as well. The laundry room in most homes will often be in the basement, with the chances of very little or no natural light at all. When you find that you are lacking in the sunlight department, you can always bring in good bit of warmth with the right lighting!
Setting up a little bit of an oasis in your laundry room is never a bad idea. Go ahead and put together a nice seating area with a
side table,
comfortable chair and perhaps even an
ottoman so you can relax and read your favorite book or even sit back and think while your laundry is drying! A great area to sort and fold is always welcomed, especially when you have a couple of loads to do. Once you put your mind to it and let your soul speak to your inner-designer, you are sure to have a laundry room that will be the envy of all of your friends!

Is Your Child Interested Interior Design?
With all of the great interior design how-to and home makeover shows that are on television today, it is no wonder that a lot of kids are beginning to become interested in the world of design and decor. If your child is one of these design lovers, then you should really think about giving him or her a nice outlet where they can explore their design possibilities. Certainly, you would not want to let your child loose on all of the rooms within your home in the beginning. However, letting your child start in by having a great deal of input on a makeover to their bedroom might be just what they need to boost their interest!
Talk things over with your child and get a better understanding of the kind of look that they might want to have in their bedroom. The chances are they will have some terrific and innovative ideas that you, as an adult, would not have originally thought of. Once they come up with a couple of design ideas, you can take the next step by helping them get involved in any painting or additions to their space.
Perhaps they really want a nice splash of color in their
bedroom. You can help out by letting him or her know that you can add such a touch with the simple addition of a brand new color to their window treatments. Helping them to select just the right
blinds or curtains can be a fun experience for both of you! After the
bedroom is complete, look out because you might just have a miniature interior designer who is chomping at the bit to work on others rooms in your house.

Extreme Room Makeover On A Budget
It seems to happen to everyone at some point. Whether you are a homeowner or you rent your living space, there will come a time when you find that you are just as unhappy as can be with one or more of the rooms that you have. Instead of just hating the room each and every time you walk into it, you should think about what you can do to take care of it. With a little bit of paint and even a small budget you would be amazed at the kind of extreme room makeover you can create!
Start by getting rid of anything old within your room that you are tired of looking at that you will not mind getting rid of. Next up, you can reevaluate the colors that you have in the room and see if there is a whole new color scheme that you might want to try. If you are somebody who usually sticks to more neutral tones, you may want to think of throwing in a healthy dose of color to change things up a bit. Step outside of your comfort zone and try something new in order to make the change really work for you. Have no fear because if you do not like the new color, it is always something that can be painted over later on!
When you are on a budget, even a single new piece of furniture can make the world of difference in a room. If you are making over your kitchen, you can always think of adding a
bench to one side of the table opposite two of your chairs. Such a change can make for a nice switch from what you are used to as well as adding a nice element to the feeling of the room!

Breathing New Life Into Your Beach House
If you happen to be the proud owner of a beautiful beach house, you already know full well that the decor on the inside is very important. Because most beach houses are there as a lovely retreat from your everyday life, you are going to really want everything on the inside to ooze relaxation and serenity. When you find that your precious beach house is in desperate need of a little bit of a face lift, there are a couple of things that you might want to do to breathe some life into the space.
Go ahead and update any of your linens or pillows that you may have had at the beach house for quite some time. Fresh towels and wonderful new curtains can also be a very nice addition waiting for you at your beach house each time you visit. You may even find that it is just about time that you think about a fresh coat of paint or even a few brand new accent pieces when you are hoping to really update the space.
In terms of furnishings, go ahead and take stock of the seating. Do you feel as though you could use a new couch and chairs in the living area of your beach house? A beautiful
new wicker and rattan set might be just the thing to really give your space the look and feel that you desire. This is a marvelous way to create a true seaside oasis that you will dream of when you are away!
