Small Bathroom? Think Vertically
It happens quite often, both with houses and apartments. Many people will choose an apartment or a home without giving enough thought to the bathroom area. As a matter of fact, there have been studies that show some people cannot even remember what the bathroom looked like in a home that they viewed while considering purchase. If you happen to be one of those people mentioned, then never fear because there are several great options that can help you work with your small lavatory space.
When it comes to some of the storage that is a necessity for a bathroom, you can always look into the help of terrific cabinetry. Extra cabinets in the bathroom can always be used to store extra linens, various toiletries and so on. If you still feel as though you are limited in terms of space, you may even want to look into the purchase of a nice
bathroom space saver unit. This is a great furniture item that gets set up over and above the toilet area in your bathroom, giving you a bit more storage, including shelving and even cabinets depending on the model you choose.
To reduce the amount of clutter that you have in the bathroom, you may even want to think of getting some sort of a floor-standing cabinet unit that you can place in the hall outside of your bathroom. Here you can hold all of your extra towels, toilet paper and more. You will find that the extra effort can make a world of difference in your bathroom when you are tight on space.

Adding Extra Counter Space
Even if you have the chance to build your dream kitchen, there is still a very good chance that you will wish that you had a whole lot more counter space somewhere down the road. Perhaps it is the fact that you didn't have enough counter space to begin with, or maybe you have taken a new interest in cooking. No matter what the reason may be, there are actually a couple of different things that you can do when you wished that you had a bit more room in your kitchen.
Have you ever looked into the installation of an island unit for your kitchen? If you do not want to install one, you can always look into purchasing one that is mobile. This is an incredible way to add a good deal of counter area to your kitchen to give you plenty of room for food preparation, use as a breakfast bar and so on. A mobile island, also known as a
kitchen cart is a place where you can even store some of your extra utensils and kitchen accessories. Such an island or cart can be a priceless asset for anyone who loves to cook and entertain.
Other than a kitchen island or cart, you can also look into a bakers rack or even a kitchen buffet. Any of these options should be able to give you a much more versatile area to work with in your kitchen. You may even find that your kitchen will become your most favored room in the house!

New Ideas In Room Design
When you have lived in a home or apartment for quite some time, it may begin to seem as though you have exhausted every possible design option. You can sometimes get stuck in a bit of a rut, which can lead to several or even all of the rooms in your home being set up the same way for years on end. Sure you may bring a couple of new items home to change things up a bit, yet all of the major pieces of furniture remain in the same exact spot. Do you feel as though you are just about ready for a change?
One terrific idea that many of the professional decorators like to use is shopping around for other pieces of furniture within your home that you already own. If you pick even a couple of pieces to switch out into other rooms you may be able to create a whole new look. This can be done easily by taking a piece such as a
hall table and placing it in a new location within your family room with a nice lamp on it. Some people will even switch out chairs from room to room in order to create a new feel.
When it is time for a new addition as well as a change, you may even want to look into pulling your couch away from the wall if you happen to have the room. Take a long table and place it behind the couch and then add accent pieces to it for height. You would be amazed at what you can create once you begin to move things around and make a couple of smart additions.

What Do You Do With An Empty Nest?
As your children grow up, you are sure to see them moving out for college or getting married and buying their first house. The chances are if you are going through any of this right now, you are beginning to feel as though you are being hit with empty nest syndrome. Well, there is really no use in moping around the house! Take charge of the empty bedroom space and transform it into an area that you can use for yourself.
There are actually a number of different things that you can do with a bedroom once your child is all grown up and moved out of the house. The best thing to keep in mind is that a functional space is the best way to go. Maybe you have always wanted a good place to set up a home office. You could even think about making the room into your special oasis where you can relax and enjoy yourself at the end of a long day.
When you find that the room has a good bit of clutter that you want to curb, yet you are not ready to throw anything away, you can always look to a storage chest or a new cabinet to hold things for the time being. This way your room is free to be decorated however you wish. Bring in some comfortable seating,
a nice desk, great lighting and some terrific plants to round off the look and feel of the space.

Transforming Your Spare Room Into A Nursery
A new addition to your family is always the perfect reason to celebrate. Friends and family are sure to wish you well and you have plenty of planning to do. Whether you already have children or this is your very first, the time will come in the near future when you are going to need to begin planning out the nursery. If you are taking a spare room and making it into a nursery, there are a couple of helpful ideas that you can keep in mind.
Start off by taking stock in the items that are already placed in the spare room. Can they be transformed and reused in the nursery? A nightstand or armoire can always be painted to match the nursery theme and put to good use. Fill the armoire with blankets, extra bedding, clothing and other supplies while the nightstand can be used next to the brand new rocking chair with a lamp for those late night feedings.
Move everything out of the room and begin painting. While this seems like a large step, it can make a world of difference when you see how fast the chore will be complete. Then start placing your larger items within the room. This is also a good time to hang anything on the walls before too much furniture is in the way. Set up the
crib in an area that is not too close to the window to make sure that the little one won't be subject to a draft during chilly nights. Once you are finished you can relax and get ready for the baby to arrive!
